Yoga for Pelvic Health: A Workshop with Inga Norkute

A relaxed and soft abdominal area is essential for pelvic health and overall physiological balance. When the abdomen is chronically “gripped” or tight, it creates a cascade of tension that impacts the entire body. This workshop will concentrate on how to refine the asanas to keep the pelvis relaxed, expanding and extending. We will investigate how to practice specific categories of postures to create space and balance:

+ Supportive Supine Poses: Use props to quiet the nervous system, allowing the pelvic bowl to deeply relax and expand.
+ Standing Poses: Learn to ground through the feet to open the hip joints and extend the spine away from the pelvis.
+ Backbending Poses: Focus on lengthening the front of the body to create buoyancy and extend the pelvic girdle while keeping the abdominal area soft.
+ Inversions: reverse the effects of gravity to decompress the area and refresh internal circulation.

This workshop is open to students of all levels.
